There's been a sudden, alarming spike in those that have been kidnapped this past week - about seventeen in the last five days alone... Sheena and Regal included. I've decided to keep count since Raine'd probably want to know what's going on when she's feeling better; though I expect Albert already knows. [He taps his pen on the page for a little bit.]

I got to contact that healing spirit last week, when I was at the lake with Lloyd and Colette. Raine's the one who's good at that kind of thing, but I wonder if it'd be okay to try it now?

[Genis is sitting at the steps leading up to House 42, scribbling in his journal. There's a forgotten plate of lemon squares beside him, lemon squares that he had meant to eat once they cooled down a little. Oops.]

Things seem to have settled down. Looks like I picked a good bad good an inopportune time to be kidnapped, but Arche has more or less explained everything to me. Still, I can't help but think that there's more to it than what I've been told.

[Accidental Voice]

[Proving once again that he's definitely not a very good patient, Genis has left bed and is up and about the halls of House 42. There's the sound of wood scraping against wood - like, say, a chair being dragged across hardwood floor. There are pauses between drags, though, and the journal picks up some muttered swears.]

If my room had a window, I wouldn't need to do this.

[The journal seems to start recording just as a drowsy Genis wakes up in time to the sound of breaking glass-]

[The sound of doors being open and shut, drawers and cabinets being ransacked and one very annoyed Genis.]

They've brought Mithos here. It's been two years since everything happened, but - [his pen trails off here, apparently not certain as to what to say next] ... I guess I didn't expect him to show up. Up til now I didn't realize that the Malnosso could and would bring people like him here, but I guess that was just me being complacent.

[Genis is in his room, supposedly doing his homework like a good student. His pen hovers over his journal now and then; he seems to be a little out of it. There's a lot on his mind.]

Seems like the experiment's nearly over. Good thing, too. I have no idea how much more of Raine I can take - she's been ridiculously difficult to deal with, this whole week. Can't get anywhere in the village without having to literally drag her there. Things should return to normal soon, though, and that's a relief.

[Riding on the tail-end of the experiment, Genis still has enough snark to go around. He's in the kitchen of House 42, making dinner. Feel free to bother him/sermon him on being mean to anyone and everyone, but expect the experiment's effects to wear off in the middle of the thread. Then you'll have to deal with a confused and terribly guilty kid. :|b]

Everyone's been acting so stupid recently. It's probably another one of those experiments. I mean, really, it's not that hard to figure out; or is everyone just slow? With all the chaos out there, it's obvious that the Malnosso've done something to mess with everyone again.

I still think they've got pretty sad method of research, if this is their idea of an experimentation. What kind of results do they expect to gain from this, anyway? There's something horribly wrong with their system, if you ask me.

[Genis is heading home from school, tsk-tsk'ing at what he's been hearing over the journals. Feel free to run into him if you dare. The event's amplified his being an annoying know-it-all brat into an obnoxious little brother with a better-than-you issue.]

It's been a few days since Albert came back... He was hurt really bad, but Raine and I've been looking after him. He hasn't fully recovered yet, but he can walk around on his own now, even if Raine doesn't approve. She seems to have appointed herself as in charge of his diet, though. Can't say if that's conducive to Albert's health, especially given his current condition. So I've been sneaking some clear soup over to Albert's room when she isn't looking. Hope that makes up for whatever new health drink she's been making for him.

[Genis had been derping around the forest, trying to make some progress with his filial magic. He heads on home when he gets tired, only to find an empty house. He looks around, surprised. Raine's probably out working too hard for her own good again, but Albert was supposed to be making dinner, so where...?

He checks outside, at the stable, and finds Astrid still there. He feeds her idly; he hadn't taken the horse, so maybe he went into town on foot? Hmm...

He goes back inside to check all the rooms, and finds signs of a struggle and a broken window in Albert's.]
